Jiongeze School Outreach at Hondogo Secondary School

In July 2024, The Pink Box Initiative conducted the Jiongeze School Outreach program at Hondogo Secondary School, focusing on student safety and the prevention of gender-based violence. The program involved 94 students and 5 teachers, offering workshops, role-playing activities, and discussions aimed at educating students on recognizing abuse, understanding their rights, and handling dangerous situations. The initiative also distributed sanitary pads to support menstrual hygiene and provided resources to encourage ongoing awareness and support. Despite challenges like limited resources and the need for follow-up support, the program successfully increased students' understanding of gender-based violence and their confidence in managing abusive situations, while fostering a culture of safety and community support.
